My computer just crashed. Kernel panic.

I took off the heat sink and fan and tried to clean all the dust and muck off of it. I touched the processor to see how hot it was… and it was no where near 170°F. Obviously gkrellm is lying to me.

I think I should just buy a new computer instead of dealing with this crap… but I don’t have the money. Time to start saving I guess.

My boss is going to be giving me a brand new Dell PIII 850 with 128MB ram when I get back. That will obviously do… but I kind of want a computer of my own that I don’t have to give back to Verizon some day when I quit (which may be very soon now).

I think lm_sensors is lying to me:

Is it even possible to have your CPU that hot while the case is that cold?
