these things always happen to me….

Well… I found out what the deal was with Ashley Friday night. She doesn’t hate me, she didn’t die, and the neighbour guy wasn’t doing anything weird… she was just out with another guy she is seeing named Jim. Based on our conversation and me doing my best to fill in the blanks, I am not sure what time she went over there on Friday, but she spent the night there, and didn’t get home until Saturday at around 1pm.

Ashley agreed to get Pho with us. I went over to my brother’s place, and waited for her to show up. Then, David, Nick the Log, Julie, Ashley and I, all headed out. Ashley was incredibly cute trying to eat this big bowl of soup with chopsticks and a spoon. The restaurant really screwed up our order, but we all had a lot of fun anyway.

Then we all went to Guitar Center. David picked out the gift in the guitar room, while Ashley and Julie and I goofed off with all the other musical instruments. David eventually picked one out… and we all gathered again to pay for it and get the hell out of there. Our total came to $830. I handed the guy my Debit Card, which he runs and a few minutes later tells me that it wont go through. Then I find out that debit cards (at least my debit card) wont let you buy more than $500 worth of stuff in a day.

Since I didn’t bring my checkbook, I have to drive to the bank, get out cash, drive back and pay for the guitar. Eventually… everything is taken care of and we all head back to David’s place. Julie decides she is going to work, and Nick decides he is going home. Ashley had mentioned having never been to a comedy club, so her and I decided to go. I called around… and figured out where we were going.

Ashley needed to go home first, so that she could walk her dog. That is when she realizes that she locked her keys in her car. She doesn’t have a spare car key, and the only spare apartment key she has is with Johnny who is in Keller. She calls Johnny who, according to her, is a bit upset about the whole thing, but eventually agrees to bring out her spare apartment key and says that he will call when he is leaving.

Ashley and I decide to go get a cup of coffee. Right before we turn down the street to the place, Johnny calls saying he is leaving. We turn around and head to Ashley’s apartment, which is where Johnny is supposed to meet us.

We sit on her steps and talk for a while waiting for him to show up. I notice myself feeling a little dizzy and figure it must be because I smoked too many cigarettes or something (even though I didn’t smoke all that much.. I was getting over being sick a few days before). Ashley and I talk for a long while before Johnny shows up.

He gets there… unlocks the door, talks to us for a few minutes, and then takes off. Ashley finishes walking the dog, and a few other household things, and then we jump in my truck to go to the comedy club.

After we park downtown, and we start walking to the place, I realize I am feeling even more dizzy. The dizziness I am feeling is the same as it was when I was sick a few days ago. I ignore it as best as I can, hoping that it will go away.

The show was pretty funny, and I think Ashley had a decent time. I was glad I didn’t have to talk to her very much, because I was VERY dizzy and would not have been much of a conversationalist. We walked back to the truck. On the way there I let her know that I thought I might be getting sick and that I felt the same way I did a few days ago. After going over all the food I ate that I ate on both of those days, we decided it must be this bag of potatoes I bought at the store recently.

We get back in my truck and I can barely drive I am so incredibly dizzy. We had planned on getting some dinner, but I told Ashley I was a bit worried I might be sick, and that I should probably take us back to David’s. She seems to understand, even thought I feel really bad for having to cut things short.

We get to David’s and I try to help get her car doors unlocked so she doesn’t have to call a locksmith. I tried, David tried, and Johnny tried… but no one could get it open. All this time I am feeling sicker and sicker. Eventually… I knew I had to go. If I was going to throw up, I wanted to be at my own apartment, with my head in my own toilet… not at my brother’s place, in front of Ashley and 20 other people.

I said goodbye to Ashley, and she offered me a hug. She said she had a good time and actually seemed sad that I was leaving. I asked her how she was going to get home (and if she wanted a ride home now) and she said would get a ride home from Julie when she got home from work. I told her that I would go home, and do what I had to do… and hopefully, I would feel better afterwards, and perhaps I would come back out. She smiled, and I left.

I got home not a minute too soon. I did my business, and then drank A LOT of water. I was hoping to get enough in my stomach so that I could throw up again, and get all of the stuff out that was making me sick. That didn’t work. I threw up one more time… but still felt very dizzy. Eventually… I just went to bed.

I feel fine this morning. Still a little dizzy… but certainly tolerable.
