The party was pretty fun last night.
FINALLY, after wanting to so badly for so long, I have learned to play Go. I beat Ashley. Something like 24 to -19.
The guy that taught me, Brian, is an OLD friend of Rita’s. She and I used to be really good friends (about 4 years ago) and I used to hang out with Brian then. It was nice to see him and Rita again. I got her phone number, and hopefully we will hang out more often.
I called Rita on my way there, because I couldn’t find her apartment complex. She answered the phone and I said “Hey, Rita, this is Daniel”. To which she said, “Daniel who?”. When I answered her, I practically had to pull the phone away from my ear as she shouted “DAAAAAANIEL”. I think her boyfriend, Tommy, was pretty annoyed with me, as she talked to me more than she talked to him throughout the night. And at least ten times over the course of the evening she would look at Tommy and say, “This is Daniel… fucking Daniel”. Heh. It was hilarious.
Rita is actually making something of her life, which is something I cannot say about most of the people I knew back then. I am very proud of her. She has a decent job, and is well on her way to Cisco certification. She talked about networking a little with me, which was very cool. It is not too often I get to talk to a cute girl about networking.
Ashley pretty much dodged Brian all night, which I was very relieved to see. We also had a long talk about Johnny and how the two of them interact at this point in time. Relief all around.

Now I have to get in the shower. I am supposed to call my Mom in New York at 3pm, so if I don’t get in the shower now, I am going to be late. I should have left the apartment a while ago, because I have some running around to do today. I will probably just call her on the road, as that way I can drive and talk to her at the same time, killing two birds with one stone.
