“Uhhhgg”.
I feel like I went running with the bulls yesterday, couldn’t quite keep pace, and got trampled. I’ve got more drugs in me this morning than the Dallas Cowboy’s had all last year; unfortunately, they aren’t doing any good.
I worked from home yesterday, because I was feeling so bad. I figured it would be easier to have a great big box of tissues and a trash can by my side at home, than it would be to run to the bathroom on the other side of my floor fourteen times an hour to blow my nose.
I only get sick less than once a year, but when I do, it gets so bad I consider checking myself into a hospital.
I went to Fort Worth last night to meet up with Amy and get EdgeFest (read: Weezer) tickets. Brad said he would probably go with me, but ended up doing something with Morgan instead. My brother said he would come, but ended up doing something with Julie instead. Jaclyn said she would come, but ended up doing something with April instead. So, I just went alone.
I got there about an hour later than I had intended because I went to dinner with Brad and Morgan, and that ended up taking a lot longer than I had expected.
I got to the Wreck Room right at 11pm. Paid my $5 to get in and then started scanning the room for Amy. I didn’t see her, but she saw me and sent the guy she was sitting with over to make sure I was indeed “Daniel”. I talked to her for a few minutes, then she gave me the tickets then we talked for a few more minutes. Since we were in a bar/club, it was a little too loud to hold a conversation, and since I wasn’t feeling good at all, it was a little hard to yell or even attempt to think hard enough to make conversation.
Eventually, I stepped aside and left her to the guy she was with. I’m not sure if he was her boyfriend, or friend, or co-worker, and I didn’t have the balls to ask right in front of him.
The band that was playing at the time (they didn’t say their name, but I believe it was “Skin Flute” or something like that) consisted of three people: a bassist, a guitarist, and a drummer. They are best described as little chicken nuggets of slightly organized noise that have been placed on the ground and stomped on. If you use beer instead of milk in your cereal, or if you put ketchup on EVERYTHING, you need to see this band. Otherwise… I wouldn’t bother making a special trip for it.
Amy and her friend (yes… I will call him friend) decided to leave around 11:30pm. Amy said that they were heading to another club (I think it was a club… not sure…. “Red Star” I believe the name was), and that she hoped she might run into me tomorrow at EdgeFest. We said our goodbyes, and they left. I left about ten minutes later and drove home.
