Very Tired. I will update in the morning. I owe lots of updates, actually. One for tonight, one for Main Street Internet night (with pictures) and one for EdgeFest (read: Weezer).
Tomorrow. Yes… tomorrow.
because a Reverend can't be wrong.
The show was great though. The played a couple tracks from their debut album, a few from Pinkerton and several from the green album (the new one). They played “In the Garage”, one of my favorites from the first album, and “Island in the Sun”, one of my favorites from the new album… so I was pretty excited. They also played “Hash Pipe”, the song you probably heard on the radio.
There were a few things that sucked about Weezer at EdgeFest. First of all, I was VERY sick and probably should have been at home in bed. This meant that I wasn’t doing the screaming, dancing, and shouting I normally would have. Secondly, some stupid jocks thought it would be cool to throw a football around the lawn area of Starplex where everyone was sitting. Of course, not everyone is watching them throw the football into the crowd and several people got whacked in the head. Lastly, there were too many people that that came to see other bands… which meant that you didn’t get the same feel that you would at a real Weezer show. Fortunately, Weezer is going on tour with the new album this summer and has a Dallas date tentatively planned.
I wrote this last night, half asleep. I don’t know what it means.
This dwelling was not made for me. I sit in this house, waiting for that which is better. That which is more secure. That which is more… Free. With each new day I breathe deeper in the morning knowing that i am one day closer to that which i have been seeking. I cannot help but hope.
There is a Starbuck’s bottled Frappuccino cap on the dash board of my truck. As I navigate turns in my vehicle he slides from one end of the dash board to the other, eventually sitting in the corner to wait for the next turn. This morning I considered taking him down as I was walking into a convenience store. As I was in the store I got a brilliant idea and exited with another Starbuck’s Frappuccino in hand. I got in my truck, and promptly opened the new bottle, placing its cap on the dash board on the opposite end of him. Within a few turns she had jumped on his back and they were sitting in the corner together. I knew they would be friends.
