an experiment

After being inspired by Danae's first roll of lomographs, I decided to research the Lomographic Camera.

After a lot of reading and drooling, I decided to determine whether it was the Lomo that made these images so intriguing, or merely the haphazard photography methods utilized in their creation. With my digital camera I began shooting randomly with no regard for composition, subject placement, or proper lighting. In most cases, all I got was crap. Nothing even close to this or this. Then it hit me. The concept is not to randomly shoot with no concern for subject matter, but instead, to shoot at things you would normally consider photographing, ensuring the lighting is adequate and that the subject matter is worthy. The difference is: shoot more often and at unexpected distances and don't even bother using the view-finder. Of course, this method yields a lot of junk too. But it also yields some very interesting photographs.

The above are small selection of the images taken last night.

You can see more here. It is the complete collection from last night (minus the ones I deleted in the camera as I was shooting). Some are good, some are bad. I definitely need more refinement.
