June 12th, 2001:

planning

I realized something this morning over a cup of coffee and a cigarette. In just about everything in my life, I spend too much time planning, and not enough time actually doing.

Take WhatTeam.Org, for instance. I registered the domain on Saturday, designed the initial layout on Sunday and spent the rest of Sunday and most of Monday thinking about the best way to handle all the tidbits of information I would like to put on the site. Granted, one day to think about such things is not a long time but, had I not come to this realization I would have spent weeks, maybe months planning it, if I EVER actually did any coding.

This time, I am just going to code. If I make mistakes and have to rewrite, then I’ll rewrite.

revenge

One Toyota Tacoma: $24,000.

One speeding ticket for 80 in a 55: $150.25.

The look on Officer Flor’s face when I bring his daughter home at 2:00am, nudge him in the side and say “DAMN she was good!!”: priceless.

Oh dear god. If this(flash player required… sorry) is the future of web design, I’ll find a new profession.
