sunday….

Since everyone else seems to be making lists… I will too:

[1] Once upon a time, Daniel was given an electric guitar for his birthday. One day, he lent it to his younger brother never to be seen again. After some time, he asked his brother for another guitar in exchange for the now missing electric guitar his brother never returned. His brother gave him a beat up old Carlos Acoustic with strings so old their age cannot even be accurately determined with carbon-dating and two broken machine heads. On this day in history, Daniel became fed up with not having a working guitar after wanting to work on a “song” he started writing at his brother’s house the night before. After seeking the assistance of farrisgoldstein> nad , purchases were made to rectify the situation. The guitar now works wonderfully and sounds better than it ever has.

[2] Upon walking into Sonny Bryan’s Daniel instantly noticed a girl sitting at the counter some distance from the front door. Though he couldn’t really see her entirely, something about her was very attractive and intriguing. He mentioned this to farrisgoldstein> who agreed with him. Daniel would soon find out this girl would also be their cashier for the evening. Upon approaching the register to place their food order, held out his hands in rock-scissors-paper formation. It was determined at that time that had won and was witnessed by the cashier. The prize was unknown at that time. Food ordering proceeded. then informed our hero that the prize was the afore mentioned cashier. After sitting at the table, Daniel brought this cashier to the attention of who promptly left to table to ask the cashier for a pen. She then proceeded to author a note on a napkin. It contents vaguely resembled the following:

My best friend, Daniel (the one in the brown shirt) finds you very attractive however, he is too chicken-shit to do anything about it. If you would like to hang out some time, give us a call. 972.670.7587. (He is an awesome guy, I promise).

This note was then hand delivered to the cashier with some protest from our hero. According to jaclyn>, the cashier smiled and proceeded to show this writing to several of her co-workers. Shortly afterwards, the cashier approached our table, spoke directly to saying “here you go” and placed a receipt on their table that did not correspond to the meal they had purchased. On the back of said receipt her name, Shannon, was written along side her telephone number.

This entire ordeal greatly embarrassed Daniel, not because the situation itself was embarrassing, but because he should have had the balls to talk to the cashier himself. Daniel has never approached a woman he did not know with the intention of retrieving from her a series of seven to ten digits, often called a telephone number. Daniel feels that he is too shy to approach women in this fashion, and because of this personal limitation, has, in the past, only dated girls he knew in one way or another prior to dating them.

jaclyn counseled Daniel in this matter informing him that he should attempt to contact her no sooner or later than tomorrow evening. She informed him that the first conversation should entail nothing more than the gathering of random statistical information. The second conversation should involve his inviting her to a group gathering with the option of alternatively participating in a two-person only activity, as opposed to a group event, should she desire. The third conversation should involve making arrangements for a two-person only meeting, and thusly marks the beginning of the dating phase.

Daniel is very nervous about tomorrow evening and is considering not even making the call. Daniel, as an excuse, will claim that he has no reason to call her, as she has his number as well, and therefore should contact him.
