jaclyn decided we should call her work to see if she answers the phone there. Oddly enough she did. Jaclyn merely asked what time the restaurant closed and then hung up. Seconds later, our phone rings. Jaclyn answers, and luckily deepened her voice a bit, just in case. It was Shannon. She told Jaclyn, “Yeah someone just called me and I was returning the call”. Jaclyn asks who it is, and then tells her to hold on a second and hands me the phone.
I say, “hello” and she asks who I am. I tell her, and then tell her that I called her a few minutes ago. She says, “oh hi” and mistakenly calls me sir. The conversation doesn’t last long before I say, “You’re at work, do I need to let you go?” to which she replied “yeah. I’ll talk to you later”.
Our phone call ended and now I am left wondering… if I had left a message, would she have called?
When Jaclyn gave her my number she gave her my cell phone number. Both times that I have called her, I have used my home phone. So, even if she put my phone number in her phone, she wouldn’t have known it was me unless she took down the number from the first time I called.
Now that I actually spoke to her, it is up to her to call. Period.
Although, unfortunately, I wish I would have made her commit to a more specific time when she was going to call. Leaving it with her saying “I’ll talk to you later” is pretty vague. If I had an exact time I would know when to give up and forget about it.
