September 17th, 2001:

ya say ya want a revolution….

I took the Political Affiliation quiz that is wandering about and here is how I ranked:

#1 Marxist
#2 Anarchist
#3 Progressive
#4 Socialist
#5 Leninist
#6 US Libertarian
#7 US Conservative
#8 US Liberal

Rather interesting.

Unfortunately, my knowledge of political (or not so political… depending on how you look at it) philosophy and/or theory is not that advanced. For instance, the differences between Marxism, Socialism and Leninism are not immediately obvious to me.

My small amount of knowledge on these topics will grow in the near future, you can count on that. Until then, based on my understanding of the topics at hand I can offer the following statement: Marxism and/or Socialism is a wonderful idea, in theory. However, I don’t think human beings are perfect enough to exist in that state, and therefore are doomed to destory themselves by, either reverting to barbarism, or living in a pseudo-democratic environment in which those with more money and better blood truly rule the people. And when I say socialism, I am talking about true democratic socialism (democratic socialism… isn’t that redundant?) and not the “socialism” that was/is found in the Communist (notice the capital “C”) nation formerly known as the USSR.

fighting back…

I am ticked off. I am sick of being forced to pay for a service because they are the only game in town.

In order to help me combat this horrid monopoly, if you have nothing to do, please pick up your telephone and dial the following number:

1.888.674.8282

When the system picks up, choose option “3″ and then set the phone down. Check it every 15 minutes or so to make sure they haven’t answered and then hung up on you when you didn’t respond. If this is the case, just call back.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

I am about to go downstairs. But not to smoke, to put some mail in the mailbox.

This is the first day I have been at work as a non-smoker in 6 years. It is rather difficult to develop an entirely new routine. I need to get up and out of my seat a couple times a day, just to keep my sanity. Where do I go? What do I do while I am there?
