I really wish I would have gone to the Drum Circle last night. As I was getting ready to leave, it just sounded like a better idea to stay home. I thought I could get some much needed rest, maybe even do some laundry, pay a couple bills, you know… just little things.
Eventually, I ended up doing nothing, and going to bed early, which I guess is okay if I needed the rest and am actually capable of getting a good night's sleep. But I made a few mistakes.
First of all, I set my alarm for 4:30am, figuring that if I was going to bed early I may as well get up early and get some stuff done. What actually ended up happening was that my alarm rang at 4:30am, and I hit snooze. And then it rang again at 4:40am, and I hit snooze again. I continued this for two hours and fifteen minutes when I finally got out of bed.
Second of all, I made the mistake of leaving my cell phone on the other side of the room. During the first couple hours of sleep, a received several text messages (for which I am always grateful). However, because the phone was on the other side of the room, and I was half asleep, my brain equated the noises it was making to be "alarm clock". So I would wake up, pound on my alarm clock a few times, then go back to sleep only to be woken up again two or three minutes later. Eventually I would realize what the noise really was, read my text message, and therefore stop it from making noise. I received three text messages last night.
And that brings me to now. I'm sitting here naked, drinking coffee, and running about an hour late.
