I thought twice when I ran out the door last night, not having enough time to put sheets on my bed and knowing, therefore, that Jaclyn would do it when she came home (as we are sharing a bed right now since hers is packed up).
I guess I should have thought three times.
The comforter is on horizontally, meaning it is too short, and my feet stick out the bottom. The fitted sheet doesn’t quite reach from one side of the bed to the other, because it is twisted and pulled too far down on the outside, so one corner is just not hooked on the bed at all. The flat sheet was thrown on the bed, but when Jaclyn went to bed she forgot it existed, and therefore slept on top of it, instead of under it.
Excellent Job.
Disclaimer: Yes, this post describes a negative aspect about Jaclyn. It emphasizes her lack of domestic skills by telling a (hopefully) humorous story. This is not to belittle Jaclyn, or to convince you, my readers, that she is a bad person. It should be obvious to you, my readers, that I enjoy Jaclyn’s company, her friendship, and that she MUST have some redeeming qualities to compensate for her lack of domestic skills, or I wouldn’t still be talking to her after all this time.
Then again, this disclaimer isn’t really for Jaclyn’s sake, as I know that, not only will she find this post funny, but that she would agree 100% with the statement that she could quite possibly be the world’s WORST bed maker when looked at from my point-of-view (as I am a “neat and orderly” bed kind of guy, where as she is a “just throw the blankets on top and climb underneath” bed kind of girl).
But I know that no one will object to this post, and no one will feel as though Jaclyn has been treated harshly or poorly. Why is that? Because it is just a funny story about something that happened in my life, and in the long run, it says VERY LITTLE about who Jaclyn is and/or what she stands for. Additionally, anyone that knows Jaclyn would agree that it is possible that this could occur with her, and anyone that would be willing to examine my bed would agree that it did occur.
But if I know that no one will object to this post, then when why bother with a disclaimer? Just in case.. that’s why.
