I’m debating if I should just clear off a spot on the bed on which to sleep, or actually try to unpack and mull through some of this shit tonight.
One thing is for certain. I have never been this tired in my entire life.
because a Reverend can't be wrong.
Much moving was had. Thanks to Brad, Morgan, Zoe (she helped… really she did), Joel and Emily.
All the doodoo is cleaned up. All of Jaclyn’s stuff has been brought to her apartment. All of my home theater stuff has been moved. We threw away tons of trash. All of the rooms have been CLEANED and emptied except the living room/kitchen area, which has been partially cleaned and mostly emptied. The garage still needs some work.
My dad and mom are coming over tomorrow to help move the last of it. Joel and Emily might help as well. I don’t think there is more than about two hours of work left.
Now I just need to clean this place up. Joel might come over (read: upstairs) in a few minutes and help setup the A/V stuff.
On my way to the old apartment, I was listening to the EDGE and they just happened to be giving away a pair of tickets to the “D” show in April, as well as passes to the “Sausage Fest” with Jack and Kyle before hand. I called in, just for fun, not thinking I would actually win… but I did!!! I called Joel and told him to proclaim that I was his best friend. Then I told him that I won the tickets and that he could be my date if he promised to put out.
Here are some pictures of the current state of my new apartment. It was clean… now it is a wreck again. I’m going to spend most of the night cleaning it.

According to this (unfortunately, I cannot find a weather site that gives you a permanent, archiveable link to the weather for a certain day, so, within a few hours, this link will not point to what I am referencing anymore… I hate that), the rain is not going to let up until around 7am tomorrow morning.
So, it looks like the option my father and I cooked up is about the only one we have.
I woke up this morning to the phone ringing. It was my mom in New York calling to have her weekly chat. She was upset with me because I haven’t called her all week. Granted she did get out of surgery, but my grandmother called me as soon as she came out to tell me that everything was okay and went well. And my mom called a few days later when I wasn’t near my cell phone and left a message saying that everything went well and that she was okay. So I didn’t call. Not because I wasn’t concerned, but because I didn’t have time to talk to her, and I know that there is no such thing as a five minute conversation when it comes to my mother. No matter how many times you tell her you have to go, she’ll continue to talk for at least an hour.
This morning, I told her I had to go, that I needed to get in the shower and start getting ready to go to my OLD apartment and finish packing / moving / cleaning. We still ended up talking for about an hour.
During my conversation with Mom, I went outside to smoke a cigarette. I almost cursed the sky when I saw that it was raining and raining HARD. I called my dad, as soon as I got off the phone, mostly out of frustration, to ask him how to move in the rain. He told me I had three options:
I forgot to mention to him that I had to move Jaclyn’s stuff to her place, and that we had to come up with a way to get a desk over to his place, but we’ll deal with that tomorrow. Making one trip out to Jaclyn’s place won’t be that big of a deal. And we can leave the desk in the garage and load it up when he is ready to leave to go home, and my step-brother can help him unload it when he gets it there.
So now I’m procrastinating because I really don’t want to move anything anymore. I just want it to all magically transport itself over here. But, while it is possible, it isn’t very probable that it will occur, so I guess I had better get going.
Oh yeah, I almost forgot:
You have 1 day, 13 hours, 36 minutes and 36 seconds before you have to be moved out.
Much moving occurred. Special thanks to Emily, Joel, and Wes for their help. We brought all the trash to the, now overflowing, dumpster, packed up a lot of stuff, and brought home a truck load and a car load of boxes.
I’m not certain, but I think everything except for my room and the garage are completely packed up and just need to be moved out and cleaned up. This is good news.
Now Joel and Wes are here to help clean this living room and make room for all of the stuff we will be bringing over here tomorrow.
A few more loads of laundry have been washed.
All of the dishes have been done.
Storage units have been bought.
Lunch has been eaten.
I am about to go with Joel to NotBillGate’s house to bring back his dolly, and then head to my OLD place to do some more packing. Joel is coming to help. Brad called and said he would help if needed. I think Wes may be coming as well.
You have 2 days, 7 hours, 13 minutes and 54 seconds before you have to be moved out.
The server that I half replaced during all of this week just randomly rebooted itself again. I am glad to be getting things off of it. On Monday, I am going to rewrite one of the processes that runs on it, so that it can be ported to the new machine. Eventually, there will be nothing left on them. Then I get to tear them down, and install Alpha Linux. Woo!
Bugg and I are going to get some food, go to Wal-Mart to get storage type devices, and stop by the Post Office because he has to ship a few things. We are leaving as soon as he gets out of the shower.
I have cleaned MOST of the new kitchen. There is about a quarter of a load of dishes left, that will go in as soon as this one is done. All of the counters are cleared, and half of them have been washed. The stove and refrigerator have been cleaned, and all of the cabinets have been wiped down.
I have sorted about half of my laundry into four piles: not mine/don’t want, towels/sheets/blankets, clothes, white clothes. I have also washed three loads of laundry.
Hey Genevieve…. about that offer you made? I think I’ve accomplished at least one goal, if not almost two.
You have 2 days, 11 hours, 14 minutes and 45 seconds before you have to be moved out. If you factor in the fact that you have to sleep, you have 1 day, 15 hours, 29 minutes and 50 seconds left! HURRY!
Awake.
Showered.
Did More work. So much for a day off. I’ve put in 3 hours so far today, and I’m sure there will be more.
I am going to keep repeating today’s goals until I get them done… because then I’m more likely to do them.
- Clean kitchen
- Clean living room
- Do lots of laundry
- Buy nifty storage units from Wal-Mart
- Completely finish packing the kitchen
- Completely finish packing the living room
- Completely finish packing my bathroom
I wrote a little program that pages me at random intervals with a message like the following:
You have 2 days, 13 hours, 8 minutes and 17 seconds before you have to be moved out. If you factor in the fact that you have to sleep, you have 1 day, 16 hours, 45 minutes and 31 seconds left! HURRY!
The sleep calculation of it isn’t very smart, as it just equal to 2/3rds of the time remaining. I don’t know of any other way to do it, since there is no way it can know when I’ve slept and when I haven’t. That last 16 hours or so is going to be VERY inaccurate, as, for instance, at the 12 hour mark, I really do have 12 hours left, even if I factor in sleeping (which should all be done by then). However, because it doesn’t know that I’ve slept, it will tell me that, after factoring in sleeping, I only have 8 hours left, which will be false.
Why am I even thinking about this? I have moving to do.
