Maruary 0th

Today is the first day of March. March is a new month. It has more days than February, even during leap year.

Scientists and calendar makers all over the world created the concept of leap year and tacked a day on to the end of February once every four years in order to compensate for the fact that the earth takes LONGER than one year to make it around the sun.

I image they started leap year the year after everyone decided it was a good idea. If they had just shifted exactly when the first leap year was going to be, this year might have been a leap year, and today might still be February (if you point out the inconsistencies in that line of thought I will merely point out the inconsistencies in the concept of the calendar in general… and then I'll piss in your coffee). So today could actually be February 29th, and not March 1st.

Instead, I'll call it Maruary 0th. Today is the day of flux. Depending on how you live it and what you make of it, it can be the last day of February, or the first day of March.

For me, today will be March 1st. I'm seeing to it.
