Meetup.com is a new web based service that promotes getting people in your area together, face-to-face with interests similar to yours. They have meetup groups for EVERYTHING, and if they don't have what you're looking for, you can add it. This service just started a few days ago, so don't be dismayed because there are not many names on the list. Just add yours, spread the word, and wait. These kind of ideas are REALLY cool, to me, if enough people pick up on them. I have registered in several meetup groups. Join in!
