I had a good time meeting Hugo and Kara. Hugo is a programmer/nerd type, just like me, which was cool. Having more people to nerd with is always cool. They were very easy going, interesting, and, had some helpful information as well. I feel a lot better about this whole process having talked to them. Their I-129F petition was approved in 17 days!! Kara gave me lots of tips in regard to the best ways to show proof of prior relationship, and Hugo gave me all the details on the K-1 application process.

I hope we can get together again soon.

The good news is, basically, Jess can come here whenever she wants, and stay for 180 days. Then, after only a short trip home, she can return again, and can do so forever (in a round about sort of way). If we do decide to take the K-1 route, she can can petition for an interview while here, and then once that petition is accepted, go home, do the leg work, mail in her K-1 application, and a few weeks later, she'll have an interview date. Since she has to be in Canada for the leg work, and in Canada for the interview, it'll be best for her to go to Canada and stay there until the K-1 is approved once the I-129F is approved. Luckily, even in the worst of cases, that shouldn't take more than two months, and can happen MUCH quicker depending on luck.

This is very doable, and I feel a lot better.

I need sleep now. Then tomorrow, I will take care of the remainder of the stuff I need to do to get the apartment (namely… plop down another $850 in deposit — assholes!), get some of my money back from the old place, do some packing, and spend some more time on a little surprise I am working on for Jess.
