August 5th, 2002:

I was just rudely woken from my wonderful nap and it was absolutely wonderful. Thank you, baby.

I’m taking a nap.

Yes I have a million things to do. So what.

I’m taking a nap.

I just put in my change of address with my car insurance company while I was getting a quote on a Jeep. She quoted me the Jeep with the new address and I saw a savings of about $5/mo. Not a big deal. Then she altered my garaging address for the Tacoma and my insurance went up about $50/mo. Ouch. Apparently Irving is more expensive to insure than Carrollton, and Jeeps are cheaper than Tacomas.

Yet another reason to get a Jeep if I can just stick through the trouble of selling the Tacoma myself.

things to do

Things to do today:

- Get an alignment
- Look for more Jeeps
- Take the alpha workstation out of my truck
- Get insurance quote on a Jeep
- Open a Credit Union account for a loan, if needed
- Decide which cellphone service I will be switching to
- Finish unpacking the pile of shit in my living room
- Make dinner instead of going out
- Call Toyota and bitch at them again about that window
- Mail in the rebate form from my harddrive
- FUCK!!! I forgot to pay rent. SHIT!! Pay rent

I can’t believe I forgot to pay rent. I can find a way to blame this on them. Hmmmmm.

cell phone

I feel real dumb.

My phone’s been broken since Friday afternoon. It’s been doing the same thing over and over again. I tried messing with it on Friday. I tried messing with it on Saturday. I even rebooted it once on Sunday, just in case. Everytime, the same thing would happen.

This morning I call Nextel to get it fixed, I fess up to the lady on the phone that I screwed with my phone. She asks me to reboot it (lady… i’ve tried this before… but whatever). I reboot my phone. It comes back on and asks for my PIN. I enter it. Then WHAM… my phone works. She said she didn’t do anything. I don’t know what happened.

None the less, my phone appears to work again, though I have yet to get any phone calls.

My shower never tasted
as salty as it did this morning.
I closed my eyes
for just a second
and you were gone.
And all I have left,
is your hair on my bed,
a used razor in my shower,
a box of things you never
wanted to begin with,
and this beautiful cat that is
just
like
you.

‘Till I Collapse

This is for my monkey.

I miss you like I didn’t know I could. I listen to this song every morning before work, just because it reminds me of you. I love you.

Sometimes you feel tired, feel weak.
When you feel weak, you feel like you wanna just give up.
But you gotta search within you, find that inner strength
And just pull that shit out of you, and get that motivation not to give up
And not be a quitter no matter how bad you wanna just fall flat on your face…
and collapse.

Till the roof comes off,
till the lights go out,
till my legs give out,
can’t shut my mouth.
Till the smoke clears out
and my high wear out,
I’ma rip this shit
till my bones collapse.

Nature Photography

I’ve never really tried my hand at nature photography, aside from landscapes. I just never had the desire to stand so still behind a telephoto lens and wait in order to capture that image of an animal or a flower up close. On top of that, there never seemed to be any interesting way to photograph flowers and animals that hasn’t been done already in mass quantities. Nonetheless, I decided to give it a shot yesterday while working my way down a trail that I had hoped led to the small lake I’ve seen so many times driving South on I-35E. I never got to the lake, but I got a handful of shots. I don’t claim that these are all that good, but, it’s a start. They look much nicer enlarged because of the incredible amount of detail present in each of them. Let me know what you think.
