my father’s son

More and more each day I realize that I am becomming my father’s son. Friday night Jess and I went to Keller to visit with my parents, and he and I were discussing buying a home. I mentioned to him how much I loathed the houses that were available in my price range. And it isn’t that I want something extravagant or huge or luxurious. It’s simply that, what new Texas home builders are building in my price range are very boring, very cookie-cutter houses. So I started describing to him what it was that I wanted. For the most part, it was exactly what he was looking for in his next home as well. From the layout of the house, to the size of the kitchen, to the location of the porch. Even the type of lot we wanted it on was identical.

If, in 20 years, I end up like my father, I’ll be perfectly okay with that.
