Health Care

My health care provider is refusing to pay about $700 worth of claims that were made on our behalf. According to them, while the services were rendered “In Network” a deductible of $1,000 per year applies due to the type of services rendered. However, my account on their website claims that I have no “In Network” deductible. I called them, and they told me that I had to file an appeal based on the false information on the website. However, as the representitive was annotating my account, she noticed that on one of the three claims I was questioning, all from the same place for the same types of services, my benefits paid out 100%. So, she told me she’d mark them all for evaluation and that they would get back to me.

It sounds promising. However, my conversation with her was almost identical to the one I had with the company billing us 2 weeks ago for the same issue. They told me that that would request a reevaluation of our claim by the insurance company and that, unless someone contacted me, I needn’t worry about paying the bills that were sent. No one ever called back. I called them again this time around only to be told that they had no record of my initial call to them and that there was nothing they could do for me because this matter had to be taken up with my insurance company.

Let’s hope.

401k bullshit: resolved

Our 401k provider agreed to restart the loan. I have until June of 2004 to pay it off and they claim that they will actually take the money out of my paycheck this time around. Let’s hope for the best.
