inklog: forward again, I think

So, it's not possible and not really needed. That's the conclusion I've come to.

I thought it would be neat and cool if Inklog were able to convert all sorts of formats into other formats on the fly allowing a lot of flexibility and ease of use. However, it just can't do it.

If you ask to convert a JPEG to a GIF, the system will look for a text based manner of doing do. If it can't find one, which it wouldn't, then it'll fail. If there is a way to do so, a filter can be programmed into the template inline, and the conversion will occur. I will try to make it as easy as possible to develop such filters, but I am not going to attempt to do it all. The filter archetecture will exist, however, it will be up to other people to make them work. I, myself, will write an AMR->OGG filter. Addtionally, I'll code the JPEG image module to handle resizing and such. Everything else will be done externally. I'll also write filters that handle text format conversions that I use, TXT->HTML, BBCODE->HTML, TEXTURIZE->HTML, etc. The rest will be up to whomever.

I hope this pleases everyone. It should allow me to continute work on Inklog without killing myself and still let everyone have the features they want, as long as they are willing to code them.
