Gallery RSS Feed

The newest version of Gallery, 1.4.4-pl2, (and perhaps the rest of the 1.4.4 series) supports an RSS feed for the Gallery. However, that feed only tells when an Album has been updated, and doesn't spell out individual photos. "George Schlossnagle":http://schlossnagle.org/~george/ has wrriten a "small PHP script":http://www.schlossnagle.org/~george/blog/archives/286_Improved_Gallery_RSS_Feeds.html to allow for this functionality. However, I quickly discovered [...]

world's smallest and hardest slip-n-slide

Apparently "JWZ":http://livejournal.com/users/jwz/ has had a "problem similar to mine":http://www.jwz.org/gruntle/soap.html (thanks for the heads up, "Laura":http://livejournal.com/users/stick_figure/).
The difference here is that he's a lot less anal than I am:
bq. If I can't easily see or reach the puddle of detergent, it's probably not really there.
Hah.
No way I'm gonna let myself get away with that line of [...]

I had been meaning to mop the floor anyway

I woke up this morning around 5am and stumbled toward the kitchen. Even in my groggy state, I noticed that our house smelled exceptionally fresh and clean. It was quite refreshing. As I rounded the corner to enter the kitchen, I stopped dead in my tracks and cleared my eyes. Sure enough, there was a [...]

Wordpress 1.2.1

The Wordpress vulnerabilities "previously mentioned":http://revjim.net/item/10136/ have been corrected in the new version 1.2.1. "Go get it":http://wordpress.org/download/.
With that in mind, and my desire to start quick blogging daily journal type entries again, I decided to give it a shot. I was hoping the new improvements over B2/Cafelog made by the Wordpress team were enough to make [...]

who spilled the coffee grounds?

I got up this morning, groggy. I forgot that I had set my alarm for 5:45am the day before, and expected it to be set for 5:00am, as usual. So, I jumped out of bed with a startle when I realized what time it was.
I stumbled into the kitchen to wash the cast iron [...]

mail call

It's dark outside. Quite dark. No moon even. And our streetlights aren't that bright. So, I went out to check the mail. There was quite a nice stack. I couldn't see into the back of the box, so I reached my hand in to make sure there were no other papers in there. I felt [...]

WordPress Vulnerablities

It appears that "Security vulnerabilities have been found in WordPress, the popular PHP-based open source blogging application. Some scripts in WordPress are not properly validated, leaving the program open to cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks in which third parties could insert content into a WordPress-driven site.". [via "PHPDeveloper":http://www.phpdeveloper.org/index/2485]
WordPress is a mutated version of cafelog, which is [...]

Dear Jim, Do this Stuff. Thanks, Jim.

Jess and I got up early Saturday morning to bring her to the airport. After that, I went straight to my Dad's house to help him work on an addition to his house. Then I came home and picked up a bit. Then Laura came over, we ate dinner, and then did the shoot. She [...]

2nd Photoshoot with Laura

I had another photoshoot with Laura tonight. I really enjoyed myself "last time":http://revjim.net/item/10076/ and this time was even *more* fun. Laura was a lot less nervous and so was I, and that made a world of difference. I've looked, briefly, at the images and I think that many of them turned out a lot better [...]
