November, 2004:

it’s a shame (you’re covering the best part)

This is my favorite image from the Lisa series. She has a beautiful torso and I think this image really captures it well, and keeps you wanting to see more.

Confession

Out of the images of Erica that I’ve edited so far, I’d say this is my favorite. I just love the look in her eyes, the expression on her face, and the fact that the focus isn’t concentrated where you would think it should be. I hope you like it too.

Thanks to “Justin”:http://gentlenews.com/ for the title.

an interjection

This is the first in what will, hopefully, be a long series of black and white nudes.

Lisa is incredibly beautiful. I hope that you enjoy her images as much as I enjoyed making them.

Poker Night

We’re starting a thing. Poker Night. The first night is tomorrow. 9ish. At Justin’s house. Texas hold ‘em. Guys and girls welcome. Who’s in?

silent introspection

Another beautiful picture of Erica.

Patience

Due to “unanimous desire”:http://revjim.net/comments/10177/ to see me post one image at a time, I’ve decided to start with this one.

Erica is quite beautiful, free-spirited, and lots of fun to work with. This is one image from our first set.

Image posting habits

I’ve sort of fallen into a certain pattern when it comes to posting images on this site. If it’s an image that I made randomly or without directed attention, I tend to post it as a single image. If, however, I have an image or many images from a shoot, I tend to post one image that links to the rest of them.

I’m thinking that, perhaps I no longer like this practice. I think it might be a better idea to post all of my images individually (or, sometimes, a couple at a time). Instead of posting an entire shoot in one shot, post some of my favorite images from a shoot, once or twice a day. This way, I can have a new image or two to post every day, and I can mix images from different shoots together. Additionally, this gives more direction for those of you who like to offer comments and suggestions on the images. After I’ve exhasted all the images I really like from a particular shoot, then I’ll upload the rest of them and post a link to the entire gallery to let you know that there are more available that I’m not going to single out.

So, *I ask you*, What do you think about this new practice? Would you prefer it, or do you prefer to wait until they are all ready and then see them all at once?

traffic… ugh.

Why is it that the residents of the DFW metroplex seem to have immense trouble driving in any weather condition other than “blazing hot sun”? It took me 2.5 hours to get to work this morning. This is a trip that normally takes about 1 hour. My commute is 34 miles. I averaged 13.6 MPH. That’s about 1200 feet per minute. That means that in one entire minute of driving, I would have only passed 30 average sized, stopped cars. You know that grocery store 5 miles down the road from you? At this rate, it would take you 22 minutes to get there.

The worst part is that there are three places where the traffic gets backed up. At not one of them (nor anywhere else in my commute) was there an accident that I could see. Additionally, according to the traffic on the radio, there was never an accident during the entire morning on any portion of my commute, nor did any other accidents have traffic that bled into the roads that I take on my commute.

So, why, you might ask, was traffic so bad? Beats the hell out of me.

Ugh. I’m ready to go home.

party: the aftermath

The party was *great*. My thanks go to all of you who came and for all of the kind gifts and alcohol that many of you brought.

My parents had a good time, which makes me quite happy. My mom can’t stop drooling over “McAllister”:http://justinm.com, “that dreamy, hunky guy from the party”, and my Dad is still accusing “John”:http://cliche.gentlenews.com/ of grabbing his butt. John claims he was eyeing it, but never touched it. I guess we’ll never know the truth.

A special thanks goes to Miki for wearing such nice underwear, to “John”:http://cliche.gentlenews.com/ for letting all the ladies grab his butt (which was nice and firm according to those who participated), and to “Laura”:http://livejournal.com/users/stick_figure/ for showing her’s off, complete with a well-drawn happy face. I still don’t know how she managed to draw so well on her own butt.

Now that our liquor cabinet is buldging, I’m sure we’ll have another party soon.

stuff and things

We’ve got a great bunch of people coming to the party tomorrow. I’m very excited. I sent directions out this morning so, if you didn’t get them, check your SPAM box and/or email me and let me know.

Justin, Jess and I are working on coming up with a few more drinking/party games to play. We’ve got a twisted version of Spoons worked out that should prove to be a good time. I’m also working on a more interesting version of Pictionary. If any of you have party games (the more lewd and/or drunk the better) that you enjoy, let me know.

Tonight, after work, I am heading to LightTec to pick up a few things I need for a shoot tomorrow morning. Then I’m heading home to make dinner (something with Shrimp, not sure yet). After dinner, I’m going to the grocery store to get the stuff we need for the party tomorrow. Then I’ll be heading back home to work on some of it.

Tomorrow morning at 9am I have a photoshoot with Danielle that I am very excited about. She’s quite stunning and a little on the gothy side, which should be a lot of fun. We were supposed to do a shoot ages ago, but everything kept falling through. It looks like it’s going to happen this time, though, so that’s good.

An old friend got married a few months ago and is having the wedding reception tomorrow (don’t ask, it’s complicated). Only she sent the invitation after I had already picked the date for our house warming party. So, after much thought, I decided to leave the date the same. So, I’m not sure if I’m going to try to make her reception tomorrow. It starts at 4pm in Dallas. I could stay for a couple hours and still make it back here in time for 7pm for the party. But that means that I’ll have all of 3 hours to clean up after the shoot, finish preparing food, get everything ready that needs to be ready, do last minute cleaning, get myself ready, and get out the door. It’s doable… but tight. At the last minute I thought about just making the party later in the evening… but, I’m afraid if I make it too late, my parents wont come, and I really want them to be there. So I’m not sure if I will go or not.

After that, of course, is the party. It should be a great time.

Sunday is party clean up, and then I need to finish editing the pictures of Erica, plus another special set that I’m quite proud of.

So… another *full* weekend for me. But… very fun, so I can’t complain.
