the average Canadian is busy dogsledding?
January 4th, 2005Please someone tell me that "this":http://mediamatters.org/items/200412010011 (excerpts from commentary regarding Canada by Ann Coulter and Tucker Carlson) isn't the common line of thought that goes through the minds of right-winged radicals when they think of Canada.
bq. COULTER: They better hope the United States doesn't roll over one night and crush them. They are lucky we allow them to exist on the same continent.
bq. COULTER: We could have taken them [Canada] over so easily.
bq. COULTER: We like the English-speaking Canadians.
bq. CARLSON: Without the U.S., Canada is essentially Honduras, but colder and much less interesting.
bq. CARLSON: Canada needs the United States. The United States does not need Canada.
bq. CARLSON: … the average Canadian is busy dogsledding.
While I respect their right to an opinion, it makes me cringe to think that there may actually be *more* Americans that feel this way.
