I'm working from home today. I've been getting dizzy again lately — worse in the evenings, like usual. I've been given 5mg doses Valium to help with my symptoms. Quite a few times I've taken a single dose with the hopes that it would help in some way. But it didn't affect me or my symptoms as best as I could tell. So, last night, desperate, I took two. I fell asleep shortly there after.
I know that some people take Valium for "fun". How much do they take? What does it do for them? I'm concerned that, not only is the medication not serving its intended purpose, but that I'm feeling very little if anything at all. If people really do take this for fun, it must be a much higher dosage.
I'm making an appointment with my ENT again today, just to see if there's anything else out there that might work. I have a friend who is a Pharmacist (well… almost), and she said that there are other drugs that people take for this sort of thing. The one time I went to the ER for this, I can't remember what they gave me. But, whatever it was, they injected it and the world stopped spinning INSTANTLY. It was incredible. You know how if you have some sort of constant noise or feeling that you don't entirely notice that it is there until it stops? Well, when they injected me with whatever that was, not only did everything stop spinning, but, everything was 1000 times better. There was no ringing in my ears. I'm sure that, for most people, what I was feeling would be dubbed as "normal". But, for me, it was incredible. I'm not the kind of person who likes to be incapacitated. But, to feel like that again, even for a few minutes, I might consider it.
At any rate. I'll be going to the doctor again. Hopefully today. I called this office at 6:30am. Of course it wasn't open. I was tempted to call the emergency number… but… this isn't really an emergency… yet. So I left a message. They must think I'm crazy. Hopefully they'll call back. If they don't by 9am or so, I'll call them.
