thumbing through

Friday night Brad and Morgan came out to our place. We grilled some burgers, had a few glasses of wine, and a few glasses of whiskey. We would have played cards or something (using the drinking rules we invented with Stacey and Alan a few weekends ago) but, we had fun just catching up. John [...]

normal?

So what else about me is there that I think is normal when, in reality it isn't?
I mean, I thought the ringing in my ears was something everyone heard from time to time. It isn't.
I thought that *no one* could snuggle up close to a cat without getting itchy eyes. That isn't true.
I thought that [...]

the verdict

So, the verdict is in.
There were a few things I knew already, a few things I don't really believe, and a few surprises as well.
Apparently… you know, you might want to sit down for this. Are you seated? Okay. Good. Apparently…. I'm *highly allergic* to dust mites!!

here goes…

And I'm off for my three hour test. I'm *really* hoping something shows up on this one. If so, it should make dealing with this a lot more possible.

Camping this Saturday

Jess and I are probably going camping this Saturday afternoon through Sunday. Either at lake Ray Roberts, or at Joe Pool lake. Or, if we get really ambitious, Lake Texoma. Would any of you be interested in going? If there are enough people, I'm considering renting a boat for one of the days. So. Yeah. [...]

gone fishin'

So, I'm heading out in about 15 minutes for another photo lunch. Today's goals are
# Don't worry about the subject, just look at the shapes it makes.
# Get closer.
Last week I tried to go to the Gaylord Texan Resort. As I was told (a few days later), I was unable to find free parking. The [...]

under the shade of a tree(click to enlarge)
Not my best works, but both are educational, which has it's own value. In this case, I'm reminded that subject matter is not the only thing that makes a photograph. I think it was Garry Winogrand that said, "If a dramatic subject were the guarantee of a dramatic [...]
