I’d rather be…

I don’t really do much “journalistic” photography (where the time, place, subject or event is more important than the composition and exposure), but I couldn’t help but grab this one as I passed by.

If there was a way I could go back in time, and watch these words being written on this trash can I would. I want to know the situation behind the words. Were they just being silly? Maybe they were serious? What time of day was it? Where did they come from? Where were they going? Why were they at this trash can when they decided that what ever they were doing was so boring and meaningless that they had the time to write this out?

Yeah. Sometimes I think too much. Hopefully, this image will make you wonder a little too.

We’re meeting at a restaurant (TBD) in Dallas around 1ish for lunch. Then we plan to be at the Arboretum around 3ish and stay until 6ish. If we get bored of the Arboretum, we’ll find some place to go next, so, if you’re coming and end up running late, make sure you call. After the Arboretum, we’ll head back home for the party. If you want in on this, RSVP.

So far no one has stated that they will be around for the burger grillin’. If you are coming to that, RSVP NOW. Otherwise, we might just extend the Arboretum trip, and Jess and I will have a nice dinner somewhere before coming home to start the party which we’ll move to 9pm instead of 7pm.

(This is why I hate planning parties. I have a bunch of ideas, everyone I talk to says they are great, then no one confirms that they can make it but I keep trucking on anyway and then I end up with enough hamburger in the freezer to last me until my next birthday party and enough booze to get into any girl’s pants.)
