GMail Tricks

For those of you that use “GMail”:http://gmail.com/, I thought I might offer a few tips and tricks to make the experience a little more pleasent. Both of these require that you use “FireFox”:http://mozilla.org/ as your browser, but, if you’re not already using FireFox, what the hell are you using?!

First of all, there’s the “GMail notifier”:https://addons.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?application=firefox&id=173. Yeah, sure, they have an extension for the windows system tray that does this, but, since I’m always running FireFox anyway, this makes it very easy. It pops up a window when I get new mail, I click, and there it is. Very nice. I have mine set to check every 2 minutes, but, that’s because I like to stay on top of email.

Secondly, there’s the “delete button”:http://www.arantius.com/article/arantius/gmail+delete+button/. As much as google doesn’t want us to delete any of our mail, some stuff deserves to be deleted. This extension makes it a lot easier to get to the delete operation (a button, as opposed to an item in a drop down list). If you install this, you should install the “Full Extension” unless you know otherwise.

Another shot of Glora from our shoot on 8/23/05.

It’s hard to decide when to stop posting individual images and to post all of what’s left into Flickr only because I like them all so much.

Your comments and suggestions are appreciated, as always.
