Photo Sales: Sunset/Sunrise Sale

Thank you, again, for all of your orders. Your support is amazing and it means so much to me. I’ll be putting in another print order with the lab tomorrow so, if you’d like to get yours in this batch, “order today”:http://revjim.net/page/photosforsale/

I really don’t want to oversell any one photograph so, since they are selling so well, I’ll probably be removing all of the “sunset/sunrise images”:http://flickr.com/photos/revjim/tags/200510sunrisesunsetpackage/ from being on sale after I place this order. So, if you’re interested in one of those, you should act now.

For those of you that would like the entire sunset/sunrise collection to this point (6 images), I’ve got two packages available.

“all 6 in 8×10 format for $100″:https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_xclick&business=jim%40revjim%2enet&item_name=2005%2d10%2d09%20%2d%20Sky%206%20Pack%20%2d%208×10&item_number=20051009%2dsky%2d8x10&amount=100%2e00&no_shipping=0&no_note=1&currency_code=USD&bn=PP%2dBuyNowBF&charset=UTF%2d8

“all 6 in 11×14 format for $160″:https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_xclick&business=jim%40revjim%2enet&item_name=2005%2d10%2d09%20%2d%20Sky%206%20Pack%20%2d%2011×14&item_number=20051009%2dsky%2d11x14&amount=160%2e00&no_shipping=0&no_note=1&currency_code=USD&bn=PP%2dBuyNowBF&charset=UTF%2d8

Additionally, those of you that order the sunset/sunrise collection will receive special pricing on future sunset/sunrise images. That’s just my way of saying, “Thank You” for being such a big supporter of my work.

For those of you that already ordered images from this collection that would like the rest of them, email me and I’ll provide you with a special pricing link to get the rest of them.

Bad shipping

I just got word that one of the photographs I mailed last week may have been received in a less than perfect state. It appears that, despite the stay-flat envelope and protective plastic, the USPS likes to fold things up and stuff them into mailboxes. It was delivered to an address that the recipient hasn’t arrived at yet, so it hasn’t been opened to check for actual damages, but I hope it’s simply rolled and not folded. If you’ve received your prints, please email me and let me know if it arrived okay. If it did not, I’ll be happy to send another using an alternate shipping method.

I was told by the package making company, by a few resources online, and by the USPS that this packaging would be a safe and cost effective way to mail prints. I wonder if it’s the packaging that’s the problem, or simply the USPS’s attempts to cram everything into your mailbox.

This is the view from where we sat and waited for the Oklahoma Highway Patrol for three hours after our accident.

A very nice couple stayed with is the entire time, which was so very nice of them to do. I’m going to make a print of this and send it to them as a small thank you.

Your comments and suggestions are appreciated, as always.

We had planned on taking a trip to the Ouachita Mountains of Oklahoma this weekend. We were 30 minutes from out destination when we hit a deer at about 65 mph.

We’re fine.

The man on the motorcycle directly behind us got sprayed quite a bit. All the other motorcycles behind him were fine. They all stopped to help.

The radiator was punctured and leaked out onto the road. Our phone didn’t work but a really nice couple lent us theirs. We called 911 and they said they’d send someone out. An hour later, we called highway patrol and again they claimed someone had already been dispatched. An hour after that we gave up and called a wrecker. He took an hour to get us and then another hour to get to nearby city.

The last rental car at the repair shop was rented. The rental car places all closed at noon. They couldn’t fix my truck until Tuesday. We were going to stay in a hotel until Monday when we could get a rental, but my dad and mom offered and drove 4 hours to get us and then 4 hours back home.

Thanks to my dad and mom for driving 8 hours just to pick us up so we wouldn’t have to spend Sunday alone and car-less in a strange town all day.

Thanks to the kind people who spent three hours of their day with us just to make sure that if we needed a phone or a ride, we’d have one.

Thanks to the Postal Service worker who drove all the way into town to get wrecker numbers and then all the way back to us to give them to us.

Thanks to the wrecker driver who gave up visiting his grandchildren to drive one hour each way to pick us up.

Thanks to the owner of the wrecker service who gave us a ride into town and his phone number in case we needed anything, and again for coming out at 9pm to open the gate and let us empty out my truck.

And no thanks at all to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol who claimed, on two separate occasions, that an officer had been dispatched, yet, after 3 hours of waiting, no one arrived.
