Rails 0.13.1 + Ruby 1.8.3 = EXPLOSION!

Since it bit me this morning, I'll tell you, hopefully, before it gets you too. Ruby on Rails 0.13.1 and Ruby 1.8.3 "don't quite get along together":http://groups.google.com/group/comp.lang.ruby/browse_thread/thread/640eb8b71c302cc2/9a9fe872ba2c5989%239a9fe872ba2c5989?sa=X&oi=groupsr&start=0&num=2 just yet. So, stick with Ruby 1.8.2 for the time being.
Debian users who run the latest Unstable packages will need to manually hold ruby1.8 until it's safe [...]

Google Reader…

"Google Reader":http://google.com/reader/: An RSS reader from Google. Need I say more?
At first glance (and I mean, like, 10 minutes ago) it looks nice. All of the cool google access keys are implemented, tagging labels are everywhere, and the interface looks decent. However, since I have yet to get any new items in my reader (having [...]

Photo Sales: Sunset/Sunrise Sale

Thank you, again, for all of your orders. Your support is amazing and it means so much to me. I'll be putting in another print order with the lab tomorrow so, if you'd like to get yours in this batch, "order today":http://revjim.net/page/photosforsale/
I really don't want to oversell any one photograph so, since they are selling [...]

Bad shipping

I just got word that one of the photographs I mailed last week may have been received in a less than perfect state. It appears that, despite the stay-flat envelope and protective plastic, the USPS likes to fold things up and stuff them into mailboxes. It was delivered to an address that the recipient hasn't [...]

This is the view from where we sat and waited for the Oklahoma Highway Patrol for three hours after our accident.
A very nice couple stayed with is the entire time, which was so very nice of them to do. I'm going to make a print of this and send it to them as [...]

my first deer

We had planned on taking a trip to the Ouachita Mountains of Oklahoma this weekend. We were 30 minutes from out destination when we hit a deer at about 65 mph.
We're fine.
The man on the motorcycle directly behind us got sprayed quite a bit. All the other motorcycles behind him were fine. They [...]

This is view from a bit higher inside the canyon. You can see varying shades of blue as each peak and ridge pokes above the one before it.
Your comments and suggestions are appreciated, as always.

Photography Sessions Available

I'm working out the details so I can begin offering Photography Sessions. More details will come soon but, the gist of it is that there will be three offerings: a Test Session, an Art Session, and a Portrait Session.
* Test Sessions will be entirely free, will offer prints in exchange for time, and will be [...]

Prints are here!

To those of you who ordered "prints":http://revjim.net/page/photosforsale last week, first of all, again, *Thank You*. Your support makes bigger and better things possible. Secondly, *the prints are in*! I spent quite a bit of time (and money) testing the workmanship of this particular lab and I'm glad I did. Their work is *beautiful*. Even I [...]
