I've taken more photographs this week than I usually take in an entire month. It feels good to be out photographing and doing what I enjoy without worrying about all of the parts of it that aren't as much fun.
Hopefully unrelated, however, is the fact that these past few weeks have marked a low point in my print sales. So low, in fact, that I've been pushing out printing the few orders that have come in hoping to get a few more because, at this point, I'm way below the minimum purchase order that my lab will accept. I'll place the order tonight regardless. For those of you that are waiting patiently for your order to arrive — thank you. I'm sorry for the delay.

I only made that one announcement, so I didn't expect a huge number of pre-sales. However, I did expect to have at least one or two, especially since most people I polled expressed a greater interested in a cheaper, signed, pre-sale copy, than a regular edition copy. Unfortunately, I didn't get any at all. Because of that, I put it on the back burner. Over the past few days, however, a couple of people expressed interest in it and asked when it would be available. So, here we go again.

My goal is to have this book ready for printing by Saturday, March the 25th. That's a little more than a week away. At that time I will officially announce its availability and will begin selling unsigned, unnumbered copies of it at the regular price of approximately $55 plus shipping. After that, I intend to finish editing "Project: Skins":http://revjim.livejournal.com/tag/p:+skins ("preview":http://revjim.livejournal.com/990953.html) and prepare a book for it. Hopefully, this will all be completed by April 8th. Once that's done I want to start working on the Winter 2006 book and hopefully get it ready to go before Spring is over. Of course, in between all of that I have more photographs to take, lots more photographs to edit, and new projects to conjure up. I'm going to be pretty busy.
I think the books are a really good thing though. It allows people who don't have a place to hang or display photographs an opportunity to support my work and to see it printed as it was intended — not muddled by monitor pixels and ruined be variations in how those pixels are displayed. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the matter.
