vicious calendar cycle

Every time I find something buggy, broken, or undesirable about “30boxes”:http://30boxes.com/, I try out “Google Calendar”:http://calendar.google.com/ again. Every time I try out Google Calendar again, I’m so impressed that I consider switching. And Every time I finally make the choice to switch to Google Calendar, it gets slow, buggy, or unavailable. Every time Google Calendar is broken, I decide to stick with 30boxes. Soon enough, however, I’ll find something I don’t like about 30boxes, so I decide to try out Google Calendar again. Every time I try out Google Calendar again, I think about switching.

I find it hilarious how many calendar programs have been coming out lately. Over the past year we’ve gone from no choices (ie Outlook with exchange server, ICalendar, and the nonfunctional Sunbird) to having new razzle dazzle interweb 2.0 ajax calendars coming out every other week or so.

It’s so obvious that a ton of jwz fanboys read his groupware rant in 2/2005 and thought, “Wow. jwz is so cool I mean right! We need calendar apps. I know! Why don’t I make one! How cool is it for jwz to point out a completely untapped market just for me!” Not realizing that all the other jwz fanboys were thinking the same exact thing.
