my weekend in brief

Here's a brief synopsis of my weekend.

Friday night I took some great photographs of cute girl. I didn't even try to talk her out of her clothes, though I certainly thought it was a good idea. I'm sure she's grateful for that. I'm sure the rest of you are not. Then she and Jess shared some smoked fish (yuck) and then we all shared some "Kopps Custard":http://www.kopps.com/ (YUM!). Then we said goodbye and took the hour drive to DFW Airport to pick up "Bonnie":http://empurple.com/ and "Justin":http://gentlenews.com/ from their flight back from their honeymoon. Thanks to an incompetent airport employee who decided to smoke a bowl at midnight instead of working in the baggage claim area like he's being paid to do, we didn't get home until 3am.

Saturday morning we got up at 7am, and left the house by 8am to be at TWU for my sister's graduation. I'm so proud of her. After the graduation we went back to my mom's house to celebrate. We stayed up way too late playing games and didn't get home until around 1:30am. We had a lot of fun though. I've known some of my sister's friends for many, many years in passing. I'm not sure when they switched from being "annoying kids" to smart, interesting people with lives of their own but, I honestly had a great time and would love to spend more time with them.

Sunday morning we got up around 9am. I mowed the lawn and Jess pulled weeds. Unfortunately, I ended up suffering a terrible allergy attack. One of the worst I've had in a while. I can still feel it. My mom, dad, sister, and sister's fiancee surprised us by showing up at our place sometime after 12:00pm. I love when people show up randomly and this was no exception. It was especially cool since it was Mother's Day and my Dad had told me they had plans already so I didn't think I was going to get to see my mom at all. After talking for a bit we went out for a photo hike by Lake Ray Roberts. I wish I hadn't been having such a bad allergy attack as I might have enjoyed myself a lot more. Regardless, I got some great pictures, had fun talking with my family, and had a nice Mexican dinner afterwards. We got home around 5pm and I did my best to move as little as possible until I passed out from Benadryl around 10:30pm.

I woke up at 6am this morning — almost late. I still feel pretty terrible but at least I've stopped sneezing and sniffling. Tonight Jess and I hope to paint the studio floor. If you like breathing dust and paint fumes or enjoy being covered in paint, give me a call. We'd be happy to put you to work.
