What makes "this morning's catastrophe":http://revjim.net/2006/07/24/off-to-a-bad-start/ even more annoying is that the reason I was even going into my office at 5 in the morning when I should be getting ready to head out the door for work was because I edited two photo sessions Sunday morning and I needed to upload them so I could send them out and show them off. I edited the "rest of a session with Stefanie":http://revjim.net/2006/05/02/stop/ and then I edited last Thursday's session, the first (aside from practice with Jess) in which I've started playing with a new style of portraiture for me. Hopefully I'll have them up for you tonight, assuming my computer cooperates with me.
Speaking of this new style of portraiture, it's a lot of fun and the results are quite good. It's especially interesting because the possibilities for environment are almost endless, yet I still get high quality, controllable lighting like I would in the studio. And, if you're like me and you just like causing a scene, one of the best parts is the reaction from other people and, in the case of Thursday night, local law enforcement. Since I'm still developing this style quite heavily, if you're willing to be my guinea pig, I am looking for volunteers. It'll cost you nothing but a signed model release. Let me know.
I'm really starting to get into the swing of getting photo sessions edited again. Because I'm under such a huge backlog, I've been editing from both the top and the bottom of the pile so that I get a nice mixture of new work edited in a timely fashion as well as old work that's been sitting around forever. Last week I edited 5 sessions total. I hope to keep that up this week as well.
