In Fredericksberg

West Texas was… life altering.

I have so much to tell. It’ll come in time, I’m sure.

Tonight, I’m in Fredericksberg, TX in the Hill Country. It’s such a cute little town with lots to do. I can’t wait to go exploring tomorrow. This evening, I climbed a giant rock (a “batholith”:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Batholith, actually, for the Geologists) — 480ft above the surrounding area — and caught the sunset. I was ready to give up about half way there, but I fought the fight. Climbing back down in the dark was a bit of a challenge too. So was dodging 42 deer (yes, I counted) on the side of the road alone my way back.

Now I’m on the prowl for some German Food. It looks like this town shuts down early on a Sunday night. I’ll make some calls and find out who’s open.

I’ll be in Fredericksberg, Kerrville, Austin, San Antonio, New Branfeuls area tomorrow, visiting various state parks. I think I’m going to check out “Inks Lake State Park”:http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/park/inks/ for the sunrise. I’m not sure if I’m coming home late tomorrow night or some time on Tuesday. I guess it depends on how much fun I have in the Hill Country.

If you’re around here and you want to do some sight seeing, send me a text message (pager AT revjim DOT net).
