As I get a lot of image feeds from Flickr, it is not ideal for me to work in the standard 3 pane mode offered by most readers. I much prefer the two pane newspaper style, like Bloglines has. GreatNews is the only desktop aggregator I know of that supports this, and what's more supports it better than BlogLines. The pages load more quickly (because you can set your preferred page length) and the silly 200 unread item limit that Bloglines has is just a memory. Furthermore it's small and self-contained. After installing it I simply copied the whole install folder to my USB thumb drive and can run the same copy from home, work or wherever else I happen to get on the net. Oh and the other nice feature of GreatNews? Like Bloglines, it's free. I'm pretty fed up with their problems, but I like their interface the best out of all of the online aggregators. I tried newsgator, but last I checked, it was very slow.
