Jess and I are in the process of moving my home office down stairs. We have lots of space in this house, why not use it? I'm looking forward to the change. I get to set it up the way I want, decorate it the way I want, and furnish it the way I want. Plus, I have lots of windows. I may just have to set up a reading chair.
I'm going to a Christmas party this Saturday evening at Skwid's place where I will "Bling on the Holidays". If you don't have plans and would like some, let me know.
Next Saturday (the 16th of December 2006 for the temporally challenged) at 9pm I will be donning a Santa suit and boarding a bus where I will travel with 50-100 other similarly dressed individuals from bar to bar through out Dallas, having drinks, chanting "ho, ho, HO!" with a sneer in unison, and performing acts surely to land me a lump of coal in my stocking this year. If you'd like to come along, let me know or just visit the "Dallas Santa Rampage":http://dallassantarampage.us/ website. Tickets are $20 and include a seat on the bus that will drag your drunk ass from bar to bar all night long. Even if you aren't much of a drinker it should be a great time.
I will remind you again, just because I can: If you like pretty pictures, visit "Arranging Light":http://djamesphoto.com/arranginglight/ (or "arranginglight on LiveJournal":http://arranginglight.livejournal.com/). I am now a participant of VFXY ("profile":http://photos.vfxy.com/viewblog.php?VFXYid=1687) where you can browse lots of incredible photography as well as rate and +fav images that you like without even having to sign up. So "head on over there":http://photos.vfxy.com/viewblog.php?VFXYid=1687 and mark some of your favorite photographs. I'm also at PhotoBlogs.org ("profile":http://photoblogs.org/profile/djamesphoto.com) and would appreciate a bookmark there if you are a member. Every little bit of exposure helps.
My self study project is a lot harder than I expected it would be, and that's a good thing. I need a challenge. I've been including the images here, in my writing journal, because they are very personal. Don't get me wrong, most of my photography is an interpretation of myself (except for my hired work), but these particular images are different. They are not easy to produce, are waaaaay outside of my comfort box, and require a lot of thought and consideration. The images also tend to be more raw and less polished, partly because it's more interesting that way, but also because, at this point, anyway, they are impossible to get "perfect". Of course they are in my "Flickr photostream":http://flickr.com/photos/revjim/ as well. I am publishing them in "my photoblog":http://djamesphoto.com/arranginglight/ as well. It is geared towards pushing myself to grow as a photographer and these images are published as one of two daily images. So some of you are seeing them in quite a few places. Thanks for being patient.
As always, I'm out driving, photographing, or thinking up new ideas on a regular basis. If any of you are ever interesting in coming along, I assure you a good time.
