I know exactly the kind of decision you're making. Corrie Ann and I went through some major emotional rollercoaster rides and fits of indecisiveness. We really liked Southern California, but also hated it for as many reasons (and sometimes some of the same reasons). Virginia was far away and scary. Ultimately I think what made up my mind was when I stopped thinking about what the move would mean for me, and focused on what it would mean for the other people involved. More specifically, what it would mean for my then 3 year old son. The decision for me became about where it would be best for him to grow up. Things got a lot clearer from that point on.

I am certainly not telling you which place is better; that's for you to decide. But, I know you and Jess have plans, so there may be people, as yet unborn, who should factor into the decision?

Anyway, y'all are in my thoughts and I hope things settle down for you soon.
