GrandCentral by Google

I just signed up for GrandCentral, a service recently purchased by Google that allows users to take control of their telephone service. It has features like call screening, a universal voicemail box, call routing based on number, telemarketer blocking, call hunting which allows one number to ring multiple phones at once, and the ability to transfer calls from one phone to another.

It's still in beta and at an invite only stage but if this sounds like something that might be useful to you, look over the features list and then let me know and I'll send you one of my invites (I only have 5, may the most interesting application win).

I'm not sure how useful it's going to be to me, so I'm trying it out. Feel free to call me anytime at my GrandCentral number until I indicate otherwise.

Hooray for technology. Phones should have been working like this a decade ago. It's sad that it takes a third party to develop this instead of the embedded communications companies being in touch with their customers enough to see a need for these services.
