I've just got a E61 (not the i) with a 1GB per month data plan and I'm very happy with it. So far it has "just worked" for me. I've stuck a 2GB mini sd card in it and use the m3p player for podcasts. One thing to bear in mind is that it doesn't come with stereo headphones, so I'm using a set of Nokia HDS-3 ones that came with an old Nokia I had.

The nice thing about Symbian is that it doesn't crash, is reasonably quick and there's a fair amount of support for 3rd party software which is good. (ssh client, here I come!) The E61 is fairly thin, not too tall, but a little too wide - but hey - it has a full keyboard! The E-90 looks promising too.
