one month

There's one month left until our baby is due. One month, if I'm lucky. Four weekends. Eight teeny, tiny, almost useless, days. And three of those already have plans booked on them.

Before now, I wanted nothing more than for her to be here right now. I didn't want to wait any longer. But, as the time draws nearer and nearer and I realize how many of the things I wanted to accomplish before she came into this world have gone undone I find myself hoping more and more that she'll be late. Really late. Don't tell Jess. She's quite ready to be done already and might not be too happy that my wishes at this point are in direct opposition to hers.

I'm just trying to breathe deep and prioritize. If I don't get the office the way I want it and my Mother-In-Law (who arrives on the 22nd) has to see it in shambles, then that's just how it'll have to be. If the garage is still covered in paint supplies and sawdust then so be it.

So, I've boiled it all down to three important things:

  1. Finish Painting the Crib / Buy a Crib
  2. Clean the Baby's Room
  3. Clean Jess' Car

If time permits, I'll throw in "Decorate the Baby's Room" for good measure.

Outside of those things and basic human maintenance, I'm considering myself utterly unavailable on weekends and most weekdays between now and then. Unless, of course, you happen to be good with a paintbrush or a sanding block.
