Yet another reason why DFW sucks
February 5th, 2008The Dallas/Fort Worth metropolitan area, the original Metroplex, is the largest metropolitan area in Texas, the 4th largest in the US, and the 44th largest in the world. It's largest city, Dallas, is the 3rd largest city in the state of Texas and the 9th largest in the US.
Given all of those people, all of that space, all of the cities it encompasses, and the large source of wealth and ideas that would be present in such a place, you'd think that one — JUST ONE — would have the desire, the means, and the knowhow to put on a Yuri's Night Out party. But no.
Houston has one, San Antonio has one, Austin has TWO, but DFW's got nothing. New York has three: one in the city, one in Buffalo and one in Syracuse. Even Meridian, Idaho and Rock Springs, Wyoming has one. But not DFW. Nooooo.
Anyone in DFW have a large, rave-esqe, space available in the April time frame? Let me know. Otherwise, I'm just going to start calling myself an Austinite, find an apartment there, and drive down every weekend.
