A few weeks ago I laid out a plan to help me better vary the kind of photograph I was putting out there. It certainly wasn't simple or easy, but I felt like I could do it.
Last week doesn't count thanks to the fact that I was out of town and without the technical means to publish a photo thanks to my stupid laptop. So let's look at the week before that and see how well I did.
Breaking Out – This falls into Non-Landscape. If I were very lenient with myself, this might also be considered Other Portrait.
cold skin, dead eyes – This falls into Non-Landscape.
a shock of life – This falls into Non-Landscape.
a long, lasting look – This is Landscape.
the distance between us – This is loosely Landscape. But could also be considered Non-Landscape.
what button do I push? (personal) -This is a Self-Portrait, It's also an Other Portrait since the image was designed.
they grow up so fast -This is a Casual Baby Portrait. If I wanted to be really tricky I could claim this was an Advertising Photo as well, but we both know better.
In summary, I did okay. I hit the non-Landscapes really hard. Clearly, they were on the brain. I missed the Advertising / Stock photo all together. The Other Portrait required my daughter as the model. This is perfectly fine but I'd like to vary the portrait subjects I work with in the coming weeks so that I'll have a more varied set of subjects to choose from with publishing. Volunteers?
Now… let's see how this week goes.
